Wow. It's been well over a year since we last updated the entire world on our lives. A year ago, we were visiting the possibility of potty training our son. So where are we on that feat? Well, I would be lying if I called it a feat.
It's more like a careless idea to Leif.
Blase faire
I think I see a light at the end of the tunnel, however. He can pull down his own pants, successfully take off his diaper, and yeah, that's about it. The Interest Ferry has yet to dock in his mind. Bleh.
As many of you are aware, we added onto our collection of children in October. Leif now has a baby sister to love on and smother, surprisingly to her liking. He even helps her practice rolling over. What a good big brother.
One big difference between our two cherubs: she sleeps! The caveat is that she has to be held. Still. At 3.5 months old. Davis says he's been gifted his cuddler, but it's a double-edged sword. I mean, how can we keep up with the constant demands of boss man Leif if Opal remains in our arms 24/7? It's difficult, I tell you.
Another difference that's absolutely adorable: she grins a lot. When she feels the need to smile, she has to open her mouth as wide as possible most times.
The last difference worth mentioning is her lack of spitting up. Leif was prescribed medicine for his acid reflux. Opal rarely spits up. Win! She also eats less often than big brother did, which may have something to do with it, coupled with my commitment to stay away from cow milk. I now believe whole-heartedly that nursing mothers who avoid cow milk in their diet positively affect their babe's acid reflux issues.
There really haven't been any other big changes for us in the past year. We like to keep it boring. Does paying off our car count as excitement?
Here's to 2018 and its adventures yet to come.
