This week, a new phrase has caught the lips of our toddler: "Bye-bye poop". No, we're not potty training. This may be an utterly awful idea, but this past weekend I started to introduce Leif to the potty, or rather that his poop belongs in the potty. It's quite obvious when he starts to poop, so after a few times of acknowledging it and telling him poop goes in the potty, he now runs to the potty after the acknowledgment step. I show him that it belongs in the potty, then sit him on the seat, and encourage him to go. It hasn't happened yet, but he is getting used to the process, and knows where the poop goes now.
I guess I should mention that our last step in potty familiarity is to wave bye to the poop, "Bye-bye poop". Tonight, I didn't have to encourage him to say bye. He initiated that step.
Like I said, maybe this is a terrible idea. We'll see.
